莱书誓从华中手中夺回柔道冠军 对于在七月举行的全国校际柔道赛，莱佛士书院柔道队已把目标锁定在包办男乙和男丙两组冠军。
近年来，莱佛士书院柔道队已有好几次栽在劲敌华侨中学手上，所以队员这次下定决心要把从华中手中把冠军荣衔夺回来。除了要横扫两组冠军之外，莱佛士柔道队还想证明自己的能力不比华中逊色。有了这个目标，队员都有奋发向上的动力，不惜为这次比赛付出更大努力，以及做最大的冲刺。
为了完成任务，莱佛士柔道队除了每星期一、三、五各训练三小时之外，还在每周二和四抽出两个钟头的时间到健身房锻炼体力，目的是要在比赛时处于最佳状态。如此累积起来，队员每个星期花在备战的时间多达13个小时，足见他们有多么重视这次比赛。
然而，如果莱佛士柔道队想要夺得冠军，那他们首先得克服自己的心理障碍。队长陈光伟受访时说：“我们在去年的比赛中，在关键时刻因为无法承受压力而发挥不出最高水平，结果败给了华中。”
但是，莱佛士柔道队这次却深信历史不会重演。他们相信队员很有潜力，只要他们能把潜力都发挥出来，要成为双料冠其实没有想象中的难。即使这次比赛再次碰到华中，他们坚信比赛结果会不一样。 莱佛士柔道队渴望包办本届校际柔道赛男乙和男丙两组冠军。从队长陈光伟的谈话中可以看出端倪。
他说：“我在校队已有三年了。这三年里，我参加了两次男丙组赛事和一次男乙组比赛，但每一年都不敌华中，只能屈居亚军。因此，我今年立誓一定要夺得冠军！” 只要莱佛士柔道队员对自己的能力有信心，并能够在比赛中展现出应有的实力，那他们肯定能够在七月的校际柔道赛中攀上高峰，再次为校争光。
